You would not be safe if Ebola was loose in a hospital because:
It can be spread airborne
There can be bodily fluids on tables, chairs, etc.
They could have touched items in the hospital
The dead bodies are contagious
If the patient " goes down" the virus would try to find a new host
The 2000 outbreak of Ebola in Uganda started when two nurses got it in a hospital.

Being in a hospital that a virus is set loose in would be a horrible thing. It would spread easily through the sick.

You would not be safe because:
-Ebola is airborne
-The nurse that is taking care of you could have Ebola
-dirty needles
-blood may be on walls or other objects
-when person dies and blood spreads everywhere
The outbreak in the Yambuku Mission Hospital

I think it would be unsafe to be in the hospital when there is Ebola.
It is airborne,
you can have contact with other people ,
and once there new body dies, it would look around trying to find a new host.
Another reason would be that items around the hospital would be contagious or covered in blood.
Last reason it would be unsafe is that the doctors and nurses go all around the hospital and spread it.
Evidence would be the break out in Guinea this year which states that it spread by contact. (Evidence for the second one.)
-Claire
Logan, I agree with you about how it is unsafe and the reasons why it would be, too.
-Claire
For Nancy's Situation, I would choose to go back to the Institute because it guarantees both her husband and her a job and her job would be more exciting because in the book, her husband talks about how the job she has is sort of boring and how exciting her other job was, even if it was scary. That why I would choose to stay.

If Ebola was let loose in a hospital i think it would spread very quickly. It would spread quickly because of the fact that nurses don't tend to just one person at a time, they are all over the hospital. They also come in contact with other nurses that tend to people in other wings of the hospital so it travels all over.
I feel unsafe because:
1- there is no cure for Ebola
2- it can be spread airborne
3- anything in the hospital could be contaminated
4- even if the body is dead it can still be contagious
5- the bodily fluids might not have been disposed of and cleaned up correctly

I would feel unsafe in a hospital with a virus going around. Just because you are in a hospital doesn't mean that you are safe.
1. The virus can be airborne.
2. The doctors tending patients can get it.
3. The doctors could spread it to other patients.
4. The doctors could spread it to other doctors.
5. No treatment for the disease.
The virus spread very quickly in the Yambuku Mission Hospital.

If a student came to school with a virus, if it was like Ebola, not everyone would know it is very bad. They would talk to the person and he/she would spread it everywhere. If everyone new about the virus, then there would be complete chaos with everyone running from that person. Someone has to get that student out of the building too.
-Kyle
If I were Nancy I would stay because if she did end up having Ebola, then she would be in a safer place than in a hospital.
- Chloe'
If I was Nancy I wouldn't stay because I would leave two children with no mother and leave behind many other important things.
--Logan
With what Logan said, the dead bodies still have viruses in them or on them. Someone has to carry the bodies out. -Kyle
If I were in Nancy Jaax's situation, I would not go back to work in the institute because I have children, a bunch of "pets" at home, and a husband. I'll just go and find a new job.
I think if Ebola broke out in a hospital, everyone would die. 1st You would be stuck in because of quarantine, 2nd Mostly everyone in the hospital has something wrong with them like sickness or injury, 3rd It is very contagious, 4th It could mutate and become deadlier, and 5th it is incurable. Like when Monet went to that hospital and puked in Musoke's mouth. -Nick
I agree with Logan
- Mason
If you were in a hospital with a deadly disease, then you would only be safe if you, in the case of an airborne disease, took precautions like gas masks and full suits to protect against it. If it was contact / liquid transmitted, then you have to make sure that EVERYTHING is cleaned, and your drinks safe (you must be completely sure).
With the virus being spread in a hospital, you would not be safe because the virus can spread and mutate through the air, so if you would breathe it in you would catch it.
-Haley
Yoou would only be safe from a disease in a hospital ....
--Jacob
You have thought of a lot of things, Mary, and I agree. -Jacob
I like how you mentioned the virus trying to find a new host Claire.
--Logan
Good point, Chloe

Being in a contaminated hospital would be extremely dangerous and probably even lethal because Ebola can be transmitted through the air. there would also be many places that the infected people had touched. after a while most of the people in the hospital will have been infected and being in physical contact with anyone could be deadly
